It’s hard to get the whole family together when everyone is spread apart and living their separate lives – especially when part of your family is living all the way in Belgium!  Beckie began planning her family’s 4th of July vacation together a year ago so that her son’s family, living in Europe would have time to plan a trip home.  Since obviously an occasion like this doesn’t happen at every holiday, she felt it was smart to have this moment documented.  I’m so glad she did!  We had a fun morning with the entire Clough family as they laughed together and enjoyed a rare occasion with them all under one roof at their homestead in Bethel, NC.  Thanks for inviting us to enjoy this time with your beautiful family, Beckie & David!

4th of July week came with a a lot of family gatherings this year!  We got to document some awesome moments for some really awesome families as they came together for some summer fun in the water, fireworks and fish fry’s down on the river.  One of those families is the Hobbs Family.  Ben and Jackie Hobbs of Bethel, NC are celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary later this year and I was so glad I was able to get together with their entire family branch to capture some fun moments with them to celebrate this special year!

Our Summer Mini Sessions at Yeopim Flowers Farm were a fabulous success!! The blooms were gorgeous, the 50’s model orange F150 filled with flowers was a perfect accent, and our families were incredible.  We shared so many smiles and laughs, and yes, wiped a bunch of sweat from our brows on that HOT late June afternoon.  But everyone rocked their shoot to the fullest and I’m so happy to share some sneak peaks into our afternoon with each of these families.

Since I am extremely pregnant at this point of the summer, I won’t be offering any other afternoons of Mini Sessions at the farm but if you love what you see, please let me know and I’ll be sure to schedule another round next year!

HUGEST thanks to Sybil and John Skinner, owners of Yeopim Flowers who graciously let us photograph in their field and to Jimmy Skinner (John’s brother!) for bringing his truck to be in our shoot as well.  Scroll all the way to the bottom to see their happy faces, too :)  Can’t wait for the next time!

I spent a summer morning recently with brother and sister, Jett & Lilly and we had a blast! Well, at least did.. I hope they they did too ;-)  The pictures sure look like they did!  Not only are these kids beautiful to photograph but they love to laugh together, too! Which makes my camera really, really happy.  I enjoyed getting to know them and look forward to the next time!

I met Kerri yearsssss ago when we were both at Randolph Community college in Asheboro studying photography (14 years ago but we’re not counting!).  We stayed in touch via the Facebook in the years since we left school and I remember 10 years ago I started seeing this cute guy floating through Kerri’s feed kind of a lot.

Kerri had met Nick as she was photographing his band performing one night and it was all downhill from there. They were adventuring together all the time in the years since and I kept thinking – these two just need to make this thing official!  That day finally arrived earlier this year when Kerri and Nick decided to plan their intimate elopement style wedding at Holden Beach, NC and asked us to document it!  I was delighted to hear their news and even more so that we were going to be a part of it!

They had only their immediate families join them for a morning ceremony on the sand, resulting in 10 people total for their moment.. including them!  It was relaxed and personal, and perfect. Just like they had planned.

We are so happy we got to share in this special moment with an old friend of mine, and making a new friend in her hubs, Nick! We can’t wait for our paths to cross again in the future!

If you can’t tell from the photos – We had a really fun time with Kate and Brad during their engagement shoot!  These two have laughter at their core and don’t let any chance go by to let thoe laughs fly!  We met them at Moore Square in downtown Raleigh to photograph them in the place they will be getting  married this upcoming December (Market Hall!) and then headed to Dorthea Dix Park for more.

Fate brought these two together when they were least expecting it and knew pretty immediately there was something special between them. Something unlike anything else they’d experienced before. They were right!

I’m so glad they found each other.. and found US to document their love!  December will be crazy amazing!!

Joanna and Logan have a beautifully unique story of meeting each other through cheetah and hipster costumes at a Halloween party with dance cardio and a trip to CookOut. Who knew that crazy combination would be the beginning of the rest of their lives!  5 years later, we were witnessing their official commitment to each other at one of our most favorite venues – Market Hall in Raleigh.

Their wedding day was everything I imagined it would be – relaxed, stylish, and FULL of joy.  Their First Look moment and portraits on the cobblestone streets were so classy and meaningful, and the excitement their friends and family shared for them was incredible!

It was clear to us that Joanna and Logan have all their pieces in the right order for this marriage to work – most importantly they hold God at their foundation.  They cherish and hold value to the word love and respect each other through all of life’s challenges.

We are so happy for these two and can’t wait to see their future unfold!

We photographed Joanna and Eddie’s wedding in 2014 and immediately fell in love with them. Their wedding day was picture perfect and they both looked like supermodels for our camera! Earlier this year, around the same time we announced that we were expecting, guess who else hit the internet with their news – Joanna and Eddie were expecting a boy! They are 2 1/2 weeks apart in pregnancy from us!  We were so thrilled for them and even more excited that we’d have a chance to get together with them to celebrate another milestone in their life and for our bumps to meet!

We had a beautiful afternoon in the trails behind Jockey’s ridge and finished up with a sunset ride in the same boat we photographed in on their wedding day!

Next time we see them it will be with our babes in arms :-)  We can’t wait!

Last week we met up with our newest friends, Mary Catherine and John at the beautiful Eno River State Park in Durham. I had never been but I have to go back.  The scenery was amazing!  We had already been rained out once for our shoot and were facing another possible reschedule that afternoon due to an iffy forecast.  We chose to just go for it and opt for a mid-day shoot just in case the afternoon brought rain so that we wouldn’t have to try and realign our calendars again.  Normally mid-day shooting would make me nervous because of the bright, overhead light but there was so much coverage at the Eno River with the trees and landscape and we had no problems finding delicious pockets of light everywhere!   I can’t wait to shoot there again!

Mary Catherine and John have such a relaxed love!  They are just easy together. Their admiration for each other shows in so many ways and their humor is contagious! Jerry and I loved getting to know them and we can’t wait for their September wedding day!!

Oh, and thanks guys for getting us hooked on Stranger Things on Netflix!

Last week I met with the adorable Miller family for some morning photos in Hertford.  We pass by these sweet folks at church all the time but having some one on one time with them to get to know them and their adorable girls was wonderful.  Mattox is the coolest big sis to Henley and watching them interact together got me so excited about seeing our two girls sistering later this year after our babe is born!

Morning Mini Sessions are a thing! But only until August so message me ASAP to get yours on the books!

And say hello to this beautiful family!
