There is always at least one period ever year (sometimes more!) when my diligent blogging schedule goes south. I’ll be keeping up like a champ in the spring and then it happens – my calendar gets crazy – our home projects take over – and before I know it I’m 2 or 3 months behind on posts! Well I reckon it’s that time of year :-) I suppose I do have a bit of an excuse this time as during the months of May, June and July we were moving. And I know if you’ve ever moved before you are cringing at the site of that word just like I am. Moving is no bueno, people.
Luckily, we were only moving one house – Jerry’s house into mine. But having to sort every belonging you own and determine what stays and what goes and figuring out how to fit two houses worth of stuff into one and reorganize everything you own… Oh goodness.. It’s more than my brain can handle. On top of it all, we were prepping Jerry’s house for our renter moving into the house in July! I had just enough time to fulfill my weddings and sessions and deliver images and blogging was just gonna have to wait.
Here we are in August and thankfully we are done! The house is pretty much organized but let’s not talk about the garage.. we’re playing the ‘out of sight out of mind’ game with the garage and we will tackle that… someday… But for now it’s time to get back to catching up on some blogs!
I’m kicking off my blogging lull with 3 of my most recent brides. First up is Ashley, better known as Mrs. Gilbird :-) Ashley + Derek’s Pirates Cove Marina Wedding was one for the storybooks! She was the most DIY savvy bride I’ve ever had and her decor was nothing short of perfect. My favorite thing about Ashley is that she is as addicted to spray paint as I am! I thought I was bad, but Ashley takes the cake! And oh her reception decor.. I told Ashley the day of her wedding that I got into her reception area and I just couldn’t pull myself away from photographing her decor! Every single table was different and even though I think I photographed everything in there at least 10 times over, I felt like I was going to miss something! Oh it was so much fun :-)
But before their perfect wedding ever happened, we first celebrated Ashley + Derek’s love with some Outer Banks Engagement Photos last year so it was only natural that we follow it up with some Outer Banks Bridal Photos. I love Ashley’s beachy style and I just can’t say enough how excited I am that I got to be a part of documenting this time in she and Derek’s life!
So much love to you, Ashley + Derek :-)
