Jerry and I have accepted the fact that we get pretty darn lucky with the folks God puts in our path. When he brought us Zach & Briana, he proved his love yet again :)
If you are friends of ours you probably know that we found ourselves with an exciting new endeavor earlier this year as we surprisingly purchased a new (OLD) house through an auction. I say surprisingly because that’s exactly what it was! We honestly had NO intention of our humble bid on this historic home being the highest, yet somehow we found ourselves closing on this beauty in February earlier this year.
That also meant that it was time for me to finally leave my house. The house I grew up in! The only house I ever lived in aside from some years off at college and shortly after moving back home. My parents retired in 2009 and moved to the mountains, and I purchased the house from them when they left. I had my daughter in that house and she played in all the same little nooks and crannies I played in as a kid! Those walls are special to me. And finding tenants to rent it that would appreciate it and be able to fill it with their own love was of deep priority.
No more than a couple hours after posting our house for rent on the Coast Guard site, I had gotten an email from Briana. Although it seemed it wouldn’t work out at first because they were stationed in Jersey and couldn’t come down to view it right away, and because there was interest from other renters at the moment, it seemed like they weren’t going to be the ones. But a month later when we found out the other interested tenants had found a different home, I messaged Briana and they made plans to come that very weekend to visit!
We fell in love with them instantly and were so excited to have them not only to take care of this special home but to gain as new friends :) We found out just before they made their move here with the Coast Guard that they’d have tenant #3 coming to live with them in December! That was some beautiful news!
Mannings – we are grateful for you! And so excited that we get to share in such a happy time for your growing family. Roslyn is one lucky lady to have you both as parents and we are lucky folks to have you as friends! Can’t wait for some newborn pics in December!!
