We got home at just before 1am on Sunday night. Our feet were busted and we were exhausted and sore. We had just wrapped up wedding number 2 of the weekend and driven the whole almost-three hours home to get up at 6:15am for Jerry to go to work and to get our daughter to school. Were we pooped the next day? Yes. Was it so completely and utterly out of this world worth it? YES.
Getting to experience – back to back – 2 beautiful, amazing, easy-going and love-filled wedding days in a row is pretty much the epitome of awesome for us and this past weekend was just that. AWESOME.
Our weekend began with Danielle and Butch’s wedding day in Grimesland NC at The Robin’s Nest and it was chic and gorgeous. We left after they exited their reception and headed down to Beaufort for the night to wake up the next day for Maegen + Mark.
Maegen got ready at the most beautiful little Inn in downtown Beaufort, The Cedar’s Inn and then arrived at The Boathouse at Front Street Village just up the road to meet her groom at the alter right there on the waterfront of Taylor Creek. It was stunning. Hands down, our favorite part of Maegen and Mark’s wedding was when they served communion to all of their guests. Jerry and I both got completely teary eyed at the sight of this bride and groom serving everyone who had traveled there that day to serve them. It was the most beautiful gesture we’ve ever seen from a bride and groom to their loved ones!
Maegen chose lovely little sea-like details for her decor highlighting their wedding on the water. Oyster shells touched with gold, fishnets and lanterns adorned the tables. For the kids – she had the tiniest tackle boxes filled with candy and tied up with a bobber! Their wedding was simple and it was lovely. And everyone there was so thrilled to be there to celebrate their love. We are SO happy that WE were the ones that got to be completely POOPED after photographing their day. We’d do it again in a heartbeat! We love you two, Mr. & Mrs. Mahoney :)
